CÉCILE RAP VEBER
MODÉRÉ PAR :
Angelo Gopée
Managing Director, Live Nation France

Managing Director of Live Nation SAS, Angelo Gopee is a key and unique player in the French cultural landscape. To date, he is the only director of the music industry in France who comes from diversity. Self-taught, her passion for music, her appetite for novelty and her talent for discoveries paved her way.

A pioneer of rap concerts in the late 1980s, accompanying IAM and NTM from their first steps on stage to their legendary tours (respectively L'École du Micro d'Argent and the 93 Tour), director of the mythical Def Jam label for Polygram in the mid-90s, associate creator of the independent producer Nous Productions in 2004, he is now the head of the French office of Live Nation, the largest entertainment company in the world, after having: served in the Export Office, where he was the Vice President, and on the Board of Directors of PRODUCTS.

An insatiable visionary, he prefers to have an idea in advance than to contemplate his successes, and it is with the same conviction that he accompanied Luc Barruet on his crazy adventure at the end of the 90s to launch Soholidays, or that he supported in the shadows, from his first year, from the shadows, from his first year, the French edition of the Afropunk festival, which fights against all forms of discrimination.

A talent scout, he successively launched Custom evenings, which in the mid-2000s offered their first French stage to artists who were then unknown such as Ed Sheeran, Adèle, Jamie Lidell or Anna Calvi, then Eskisse evenings with Live Nation, which for three years offered artists without contracts the opportunity to present themselves on stage, allowing Yseult, Alice & Moi, Caruso, Hervé, Pr2b or Terrenoire for To name only them, to sign with record companies or tour companies like Decibels, Le Périscope, Warner, Live Nation, or to be programmed in the main French festivals, starting with Rock en Seine and Le Printemps de Bourges.

Coming from a popular background, he knows how difficult the road is without a network or support, which is why he is launching Campus M with HEC, offering students from diverse backgrounds or from disadvantaged neighborhoods study grants that will allow them to obtain a specialized Master's degree at Bac+6 level in music management, recognized by the State. Always focusing on the general interest over his personal ambition, he explains: “Transmission is fundamental to the future of our business, and it is time for cultural representatives to reflect the richness of our society.”
