SALLE
La Femme returns to its new-wave roots from Psycho Tropical Berlin (Machine), blending it with an Anglo-Saxon rock sound of the ’80s and ’90s (Rock). This album pays homage to rock, its punch, and its timelessness. La Femme creates rock with machines.
After Psycho Tropical Berlin, Mystères, and Paradigmes, the band, founded by Marlon Magnée and Sacha Got, is back with Rock Machine, their first album written entirely in English. Composed over the past few years during tours around the world, this new LP was heavily inspired by their relentless tour dates across the United States. Rock Machine, armed with a fresh electro-arena-rock sound, is a globe-trotting album ready to captivate an even broader international audience.
With Rock Machine, La Femme continues to develop a multidimensional universe outside of trends, with their unique sound and aesthetic. The first single, Ciao Paris, is a metaphorical farewell to France, nodding to 1960s YéYé pop with a touch of electro-surf. On Clover Paradise, the band takes us to a dark, electrifying, and hypnotic dancefloor. Love Is Over is a captivating new-wave ballad that recalls the Madchester bands of the ’90s playing at the Hacienda. Venus is an irresistible and intoxicating blend of The Velvet Underground and The Mamas and the Papas. Alongside rock and synthwave sounds, there’s also electro (Sweet Babe), UK punk-style disco (My Generation), and many other surprises.
